Bones & Feathers was born from a desire to work with those who are on a path of conscious awareness, and who are drawn to the power and beauty of the natural world as a gateway to their own awareness.
As human beings, a deep wisdom resides in each of us. This guiding voice is inherent to who we are; it is part of the pure connection to our own divinity that is our birthright. However, over the course of our lives, our access to this inherent wisdom can become blocked until it seems hard or impossible to hear.
Each piece of artwork that is created acts as a bridge between those blocks and your true self, a tool to support you in accessing your own inner wisdom. Through your intent, this piece can bring you to new levels of awareness about your own life and nurture the incredible transformative power of your self-knowledge.
I rely solely on my intuition for the creation of each piece. At the beginning, a piece of manzanita, which is the primary wood that I work with, is chosen. After it is sanded and oiled, I sit in silence and allow my higher wisdom to reveal the energy that the piece will hold. I use either Rune Cards and Medicine Cards for this process. After drawing a card, I keep its significance and meaning in the forefront of my mind and as I listen intuitively to the elements I have to work with, I become a part of the creation itself. I have learned not to question this process, but to simply receive and follow this stream of communication. These pieces are created intentionally to help you connect with that same intuitive wisdom within you. Finally, the piece is smudged and a sacred intention is set to assist in your connection to Self.
I especially love to create for and with a specific person. As a participant in this process, you select your own piece of wood and draw a card or set an intent for the piece, which speaks to your unique life situation. At this moment, the base piece becomes a container for your intent to heal, and everything that happens after this is to support that purpose. I gladly integrate any meaningful objects or requests that you may have to further enhance the power of the piece. My intuition guides me in creating this piece for you, which is deeply attuned to your path and can be an especially beautiful and effective tool for self exploration and growth.
